The Genesis & Growth:

The R.B.Institute of Management & Computer Studies (RBIMS) is one of the leading Institutes working since 2007 at eastern Ahmedabad. The RBIMS has been duly approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi and affiliated with Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad. Presently we are running two years full time Programme in  Master in Business Administration (MBA), Three year full Time Master in Computer Application (MCA), Five years Integrated Programme on Master in Applied Management and Five years Integrated Master in Computer Application.

Learning Environment

At RBIMS a judicious of blend concepts, theory and practice prepare the students to function in a dynamic environment.  The institute recognizes that the careful application of fundamental concept requires rigorous training and conscious efforts to generate an ambience, which encourages individual initiative and in the process provide students with incisive business acumen.

The Library

The Institute aims at expanding the knowledge base of its students catering to their diverse interests. After thorough study and research, books pertaining to varied interests representing overall subject knowledge and chosen sectors are provided by the library. The library offers direct access to some 8000 books, around 125 current journals and a wide range of audiovisual material including CDs to supplement to the healthy learning environment at the institute.

The Computer Lab

Blending knowledge with technology is our mantra. Our students are provided with the best of IT facilities for pooling in their theoretical and practical knowledge into a distinct advantage. The computer lab is a gateway to a world of applications and information sources that are on the leading edge of management practice and thought.

The RBIMS has hi-tech computer labs for the students studying at the campus, which include 300 computers besides individual computers for the faculty and the staff. All the computers have the internet broad band Wi-Fi connectivity at the campus.

Education, the liberating force is an opportunity in itself and it has been a launch pad for many of the success stories today. RBIMS as an institution has always endeavoured to shape individuals into professionals of repute. It is our strong belief that our students should have the much-needed professional edge over their contemporaries.

We at RBIMS have accepted the challenge of providing solutions to the ever-increasing business problems by equipping our students with an ability to solve problems. Emphasis is also laid on instilling a holistic view towards different issues.

The Tools

Group Projects

Every successful organisation in today’s world is known by their individuals of repute. These individuals may be the torch bearers for the success of the organization. Yet, no single entity can claim to be the only determining factor towards a company's success. It’s rather the ‘not so visible’ team effort, which acts as a pillar of strength for every organization. It’s our faith in the group effort that we, at RBIMS have students working on group projects. These group projects are assigned through various course modules.

They provide a fresh challenge to the students, in addition to the development of inter-personal skills and leadership qualities. The cross functional projects which are assigned to the students help in sharpening their knowledge base through the interaction of issues within the class. Moreover, these group projects are evaluated on the basis of the co-ordination, the presentations as well as the efforts put in by the group in their respective projects. Thus, these projects which the students perform form a base for analysing presenting and getting meaningful output towards concurrent practical issues pertaining to the various courses.


Case Preparation and Analysis

Cases are a source of exposure to practical and live examples and so the institute not only believes in inducing its students to analyze prominent cases daily but also in visiting corporate offices and chart a case on their own. This in turn gives the students a chance to understand the various pros and cons of organizations and how they overcome these impediments. Case preparation helps the students to realize the various external and internal factors affecting an organization’s growth.

CEO Lectures & Seminars

Acquiring knowledge and gaining exposure to the practical world is the greatest value addition to the theoretical base that can be availed by a student. The seminar committee acknowledges the students’ zeal for learning from the experts of the corporate world and thus, arranges lectures and seminars from time to time. These eminent personalities are invited to the campus to share their knowledge with the students and in a way guide the students to learn from their knowledge and experiences. These interactions help the students to gain an insight into various subjects.


The faculty at the institute emphasizes on developing presentation skills of every student using audio visual aid to convey ideas and plans in organized and cogent fashion. It helps the students to build up confidence in expressing themselves at varied occasions.

Industrial Visits

Corporate Exposure, a philosophy followed at RBIMS, gives the students an opportunity to interact with prominent companies in the industry. The students annually undergo one-week winter placement and organize industrial visits regularly. In addition to interaction with eminent personalities, these opportunities provide valuable insights in understanding the various policies and strategies followed by an industry.

Simulation techniques

Business games, in-basket exercises, role-plays, quizzes and various simulation techniques are used to enhance the learning process besides complementing it.

The seemingly boundless energy of the students is not just channelized in to the demanding activities of the academic curriculum but they find the time to participate in varied activities depending on their special interest.  Students group like the Placement cell, Alumni programs, Seminar committee, Library committee and Research cell are active round the year, organizing events in their areas and thus promoting team spirit, information sharing, developing organizing skills and leadership qualities.

Placement Cell

Doors to new Opportunities. . .

The performance of any management school is reflected through the placements of its students. It is a unique activity at the institute, which is being directly handled by Dr. T. D. Tiwari Director-RBIMS and Dr. B.K.Sharma HOD RBIMS. They are regularly visiting to the various corporate for the student placements. In addition to that, the placement committee acts as a bridge between the students and the corporate world. It sets itself rolling through the co-ordination of various activities pertaining to the placements of the students. The interactive and mutual relationship that the placement committee develops with the industry reflects its performance. Moreover, the placement of the students is regarded to be a true reflection of the calibre of the students groomed by the management school. The committee ensures that it acts as a platform in linking prospective careers with their future plans.

Alumni Committee

A pigeon never found a better messenger than itself. . .

No man is as wise as a man with experience. This experience that our alumni have gained, helps in guiding juniors in making their future bright. This committee also enables the current lot keep in touch with their older counterparts, who are already a part of the industry. This committee assists the institute in facilitating seminars and placements.

Seminar Committee

A blend of theory with an insight into the practical world is what the seminar committee strives for.  It aims to extract knowledge from the diverse experiences of the learned and eminent personalities from the Industry as well as the academic world. The committee organizes various seminars to support and facilitate the classroom learning in-turn encouraging an interactive environment.

Library Committee

A book holds a house of gold. . .

For centuries and ages, Books have remained man’s best friends in imparting knowledge.

We, at RBIMS, have also been able to emphasize the importance of sharing knowledge via the Library Committee. The committee has set it rolling with sharing knowledge and having periodicals coming across from various B-Schools as well as renowned business publications. This has indeed given the students an upper hand in developing an independent viewpoint of the concurrent issues.

Research Cell

One beetle recognizes another. . .

It is not best that we should all think alike; it is differences of opinions that make horse races. The research cell consists of students who form it on a voluntary basis and as the name itself suggests each member studies a specific sector throughout the week and comes out with useful information which is shared across the members of the research cell. The idea behind this creative activity is that it inculcates in the students an ability to see the underlying currents in a specific sector and of course staying close to current affairs.
